A seminar on Digitalisation of Folk Wisdom was organised by the Department of English, Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi khan on November 03, 2022. Event started at 16:00 o'clock and the venue for the event was Seminar Hall, Ghazi University, City Campus. Dr. Muhammad Sheraz Dasti, Assistant Professor and Chair, Centre of Language Teaching, International Islamic University, Islamabad was the key note speaker. Moderator for the session was Talha Basheer, Lecturer Department of English, Ghazi University. Participants of the seminar were from Ghazi University, specially the students of The Department of English. Event started with recitation of Holy Quran and Naat. After that the key note speaker Dr. Sheraz Dasti was invited for the talk on "Digitalisation of Folk Wisdom". His grip and expertise on the topic kept the audience engaged. His discussion was centered on following questions:
1.How Digitalisation of Folk Wisdom is possible and why is it necessary?
2. What is the importance of translations?
3. Why promotion of our folk literature is something essential?
4. What can we do to globalise our local languages and literature?
5. What are the reasons that we are not a part of global phenomenon and why our local literature does not find a place outlines of world literature being taught in universities?
6. How are we adopting internationalism (Eurocentrism) on the cost of our own culture?
It was a detailed and interactive session. Dr. Rashida Qazi, Assistant Professor, Department of Urdu, Ghazi University too joined the session with her PhD supervisees. At the end of the session there was a question answer session. participants asked questions related to aforementioned topics. After Dr. Dasti, Dr. Rashida Qazi expressed her thoughts about the event. Dr. Muhammad Asif, Head, Department of English & Deputy Registrar, Ghazi University concluded the session with a thank you note.
