Departmental Overview

The Department of Education Ghazi University was established in 2014 in response to the growing needs for trained teachers in Southern Punjab region with the aims to expanding higher education and teacher training opportunities in the Southern Punjab. Another strong motivation for launching the Department of Education was to improve the teacher education and training of future teachers to address the needs of quality education in the 21st century. The Department of Education is currently in the process of fulfilling the community needs. The changing role of this department will help to open up more programs and opportunities for the professionals of education in all aspects of educational development in the region.

Vision

The Vision of the Education Department is to develop Education by inculcating knowledge, skills and ethical values to resolve educational problems of Pakistani Society and to bring, harmony, solidarity, peace, cohesiveness, integrity, prosperity and technological and educational advancement.

Mission

To accomplish quality in the field of teacher education through empowering teachers and developing their competencies in the areas of content, pedagogical skills and research in the field of Education.

Department of Education provides the facilitates professional development training for pre -service education and in-service to the all kinds of teachers and educational administrator. The graduates of this department also have the capability to render their services as professional teacher in various research and social welfare institutions as managers, researchers and consultants along with these skills .

  • Emphasis is on imparting pedagogical & communication skills.
  • Practical training of presentation and demonstration skills through classroom presentation, seminars, symposia and conferences.
  • A detailed analysis of students’ teaching skills through microteaching approach to bring about sophistication and refinement in their styles and methods of teaching.
  • A full fledge course on “communication skills” in order to sharpen students English communication skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
  • A dynamic, interactive and creative teaching and learning environment.
