Dr. Yasir Farooq is serving as Lecturer at Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan (32220), Pakistan. He is specialized in Quran, Ḥadīth and Sīrah Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in 2021 from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. Dr. Farooq’s scholarly interests include Qur'anic Studies, Ḥadīth sciences, and Sīrah, with a particular emphasis on classical and modern approaches to Ḥadīth transmission, hermeneutics, and exegesis. His research addresses some of the most intricate and often overlooked dimensions of Ḥadīth and Sīrah scholarship, particularly the Science of ‘Ilal al-Ḥadīth. In 2022, his book "Muḥammad (PBUH): The Emancipator of Humanity" [ISBN: 978-969-23662-0-5] earned him the prestigious National Seerah Award of Pakistan. His recent publication, "‘Ilm-i-Sharḥ-Ḥadīth: Asāsiyāt wa Taṣnīfāt (The Science of Ḥadīth Commentary: Fundamentals and Writings)” [ISBN: 978-969-23662-7-4], offers an in-depth exploration of Ḥadīth interpretation, discussing its principles, methods, sources, and common causes of misinterpretation. Dr. Farooq published many research papers in well-reputed National and International Journals and participated in many prominent Conferences across the world. He authored 18 books within the areas of his expertise. Besides, he supervised numerous M.Phil. & Ph.D. Scholars. He also edited 03 Volumes of Research Journal ĪQĀN a publication of Riphah International University, Faisalabad, and now he is also the founding and managing Editor of Al-Āfāq Islamic Research Journal, a publication of the Department of Islamic Studies, Ghazi University, DGK. As well as the Editor of the Journal of Religious and Social Studies. He is an active member of numerous academic organizations across the country.
